DESIGN METHODOLOGY
At RGA Atelier, our design approach is firmly rooted in the principles of modern contextualism and sustainability. We embark on each project with a comprehensive understanding of the existing conditions, meticulously dissecting the site's unique DNA, its inherent dynamics, and its ecological context. This profound understanding serves as the bedrock for our design ideas, ensuring that they are not merely superimposed upon the environment but rather seamlessly integrate into the neighborhood's fabric, while also minimizing environmental impact and promoting long-term sustainability.
Our methodology is anchored in the belief that architecture should not be an isolated imposition but rather an organic extension of the surroundings, in harmony with the context. We strive to create spaces that resonate with the unique spirit of each locale, fostering a deeper connection between the built environment and its inhabitants, while also promoting resource efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and fostering a healthier planet for future generations.
At the heart of our design process lies a collaborative partnership with our clients. We engage in an open dialogue to fully understand their vision and goals, seeking to craft design solutions that not only meet their specific requirements but also complement the existing context and adhere to sustainable principles. Through this collaborative approach, we create lasting and meaningful impacts, leaving a legacy of architecture that harmonizes with its surroundings, enriches the lives of those who experience it, and contributes to a more sustainable future.

Reza Rahimpour
AIA, LEED AP
Principal
“Architecture is not just a profession, it's a responsibility. We have the power to shape the world around us and we must use that power wisely to create spaces that are sustainable, inclusive, and uplifting for our community, and which will last for generations.”
Reza’s curiosity and passion for art and science led him to the decision to pursue his future in architecture at the age of 14 despite initially considering dentistry. Since entering the practice in 2001, Reza has honed his skills in solving complex design challenges and understands that collaboration is the key to successful development. He works closely with stakeholders to find creative solutions that maximize efficiency while delivering contextual, sustainable, and profitable projects. Reza has substantial experience in hi-rise residential, mixed-use, adaptive re-use, and large-scale developments; he’s completed projects both in the US and abroad.
For Reza, the human element of architecture is of utmost importance. He strongly believes that buildings should be designed holistically, with people’s needs in mind, and measured by how well they serve their occupants while leaving a positive impact on the environment. Reza also advocates for the use of technology in architecture, and he’s passionate about leveraging it to advance design and project delivery.
Reza aims to make the design process efficient and collaborative by invoking innovative tools and design ideas to generate added value for occupants and clients. He serves in leadership for RGA's Residential and Mixed-Use practice areas, taking charge of project teams, actively participating in business development, and mentoring staff so they excel in their careers.

“Consistently staying motivated involves visualizing a future that has not yet materialized, and persuading clients, the public, and skeptics to embrace and believe in that vision.”
Paul’s motivation to become an architect was inspired by a visit to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater when he was in high school. He had never imagined that a structure could be so connected to its site and harmonious with nature—all the while expressing modern design and aesthetics. Since entering the profession, Paul has crafted his work and refined this Wright-inspired protocol on every scale, from a single structure to a large, mixed-use development.
With over two decades of experience as a design architect and urban designer, Paul’s expertise spans a diverse range of practice areas, including hospitality, retail, entertainment, residential, and complex mixed-use development. Paul has held senior designer positions at firms such as Rockwell Group, Walker Group / CNI, Street-Works, and Perkins Eastman.
Paul has played a pivotal role in shaping the design landscape of numerous significant and award-winning large-scale mixed-use and urban redevelopment projects, both within the United States and globally. Notable example includes The Wharf in Washington DC, which has received many notable awards including AIANY Urban Design Merit Award, AIADC Urban Design & Master Planning Merit Award, and ULI’s Global Awards for Excellence. Recent notable projects include the Fordham Landing project in The Bronx and the Banco Popular Campus in Puerto Rico, with a combined construction budget of over $600 million.
In leading these transformative projects, Paul supported the integration of diverse disciplines within the projects, including building technology, urban planning, city infrastructure, zoning, site and civil design, waterfront revitalization, landscape design, and transit infrastructure. The result is a comprehensive approach in addressing high-density, transit, mixed-use, and broader urbanization challenges, including sustainability and resiliency.
